Affacciato sul Golfo dell’Asinara, il territorio della Bassa Valle del Coghinas sorprende subito il visitatore con la bellezza della sua natura variegata: colline e altopiani, valli immerse in una rigogliosa macchia mediterranea.
Sono sufficienti pochi km per veder cambiare completamente il paesaggio, dove i quattro elementi nel tempo hanno dispiegato la loro potenza in un’armonia di forme e colori… Si passa così dall’azzurro intenso del mare alla collina verdeggiante; dalle brune falesie vulcaniche di Castelsardo, alla bianca spiaggia sabbiosa di Valledoria e Badesi, interrotta solo dalla foce del Fiume Coghinas, che qui crea un importante ecosistema umido e che serpeggiando verso l’interno raggiunge il territorio di Santa Maria Coghinas e Viddalba per arrivare alle Terme di Casteldoria, famose per la qualità delle acque salso-bromo-iodiche; dalle alte scogliere di granito rosa di Isola Rossa e Costa Paradiso (Trinità D’Agultu), a picco sul mare, che la forza del vento di maestrale modella in figure antropomorfe, ai versanti ripidi e alle strette valli scavate dai corsi d’acqua nell’entroterra di Sedini e Perfugas, alla ricerca di anfratti e cavità scavate nella roccia e impiegate dall’uomo fin dall’antichità.
Difficile descrivere lo splendore dei tramonti su questa costa, quando il cielo si unisce al mare in incantevoli giochi di luci e colori… la quiete nel risalire il corso del fiume quando l’unico rumore è quello dei remi nell’acqua, tra le dolci anse che disegna nella fertile valle coltivata a pieno campo, verso le gole di Casteldoria, dove dalla profondità della terra si sprigiona il calore che riscalda le sue acque… o la meraviglia di fronte ai segni che gli uomini fin dai tempi più antichi hanno lasciato su questo territorio!
E’ questo uno scenario naturale ancora incontaminato, dove tante sono le possibilità di svago tra mare, fiume e territori interni, alla scoperta di itinerari alternativi, alla ricerca della storia, della cultura e delle tradizioni di questi luoghi.

This is a natural unspoiled setting, where there are many opportunity of leisure by the sea, river and inland, to the discovery of alternative itineraries in the serach of history, culture and traditions of these places.
